Dear Colleagues,
The 6th EFIM Congress and the 13th Portuguese National Congress of Internal Medicine are taking place in the near future. We have prepared an ambitious programme and we are sure there will be a high level of participation on behalf of the internists.
The final programme is available at www.efim2007.org where you can also see the abstract of all oral communications and posters, allowing you to choose which ones you wish to attend. The programmes focus on very important issues within Internal Medicine - scientific and socio-professional – always bearing in mind professional improvement towards the goal of a more effective and ever more humanized medical practice.
We are also very appreciative of the support we have received for our congress from the pharmaceutical industry.
The Congress begins at 2.00pm on May 23rd (Wednesday) with oral communications and poster sections. At 4pm Prof. Pitta Barros presents his conference “General internists at the Hospital: cost saving or big spenders?” and the Opening Ceremony is scheduled for 5.30 pm.
The President of the Republic will honour us with his presence at this Ceremony. The Congress closes on Saturday May 26th with the Conference by António Vitorino “The future of Health in Europe”. The European Commissioner for Health, Markos Kyprianou is invited to the Closing Ceremony. The Congress will be a very important moment in Internal Medicine in both Europe and Portugal and I am sure that you will take part and join us.
